Blackcurrant Margarita for Mother’s Day!

It’s Mother’s Day in most countries today. Why not treat your Mother to a deliciously refreshing Blackcurrant Margarita?
I love margaritas — they are like big alcoholic slushies for adults! Margaritas are perfect for cooling down on a hot day and of course the must-have accompaniment with a Mexican meal.
Creme de Cassis (Blackcurrant liqueur) gives this Blackcurrant Margarita a refreshing berry taste, which is not too sweet nor too sour.

Blackcurrant Margarita

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Makes: 2 drinks

Ingredients:
2x 50 ml Tequila
50 ml Triple Sec Citrus Liqueur
50 ml Crème de Cassis Blackcurrant Liqueur
3x 50 ml Rose’s Lime Juice Cordial
1 Lime for making the salt rim (optional)
Salt for making the salt rim (optional)
2 – 2 1/2 cups  ice (depending on how slushie like you like your margarita)

Directions:
Pour a thin layer of salt on a shallow plate. Moisten the rims of two glasses with a lime slice. Slowly dip the rim of the glass into the salt to create a thin salt layer on it. Repeat with the other glass. Set aside. You can use the rest of the lime wedges by putting them to the finished drinks to give the Blackcurrant Margarita an extra zing.

In a blender mix Tequila, Triple Sec, Crème de Cassis and Lime Juice Cordial with ice.

Blend until all the ice is crushed. Make sure your blender is designed for crushing ice.
