Louis Vuitton Travel Book Series features young talent and renowned artists discovering unfamiliar and familiar cities and sharing their vision of these places with us. The latest Travel Book Series tells a story of Paris, Easter Island, New York and London through the artists’ illustrations and words. To us who are so familiar with our cities the artists’ viewpoints provide new depth and maybe even new discoveries of our home cities.
A young Japanese illustrator Natsko Seki has created the Louis Vuitton London Travel Book. Natsko moved to London in 2001 to study graphic design, but it shortly became clear to her that her real passion was in illustration and animation. Since her graduation she has worked with book publishers to create book covers and has also created a poster campaign for Transport for London.
In her illustrations Natsko Seki combines hand-drawn illustrations with computer and photographic tools creating timeless moments laced with nostalgia. She uses photographs from her real life and all the characters have real-life faces (her family, friends or strangers she meets on the street) – she leaves the photographed faces untouched.
For the Louis Vuitton London Travel Book Natsko has chosen locations throughout London that best express the Spirit of London in everyday life to her.
All the books in the current Louis Vuitton Travel Book Series are available to order through louisvuitton.com or visit the Louis Vuitton New Bond Street store.
